Scrapyard Rescue!

Scrapyard Rescue is a 16-bit-style side-scrolling platformer in which LE Bot must recover important vintage computer equipment he accidentally threw away. Curator Bot has given him one chance to retrieve the lost archival pieces before LE Bot himself gets scrapped.

The Mission

1. Guide LE Bot through five levels of dangerous scrapyard terrain.
2. Reach the goal at the end of each level and recover the missing archival item: the keyboard, monitor, mouse, computer, and finally theCPU.
3. Survive the enemies, environmental hazards, and moving platforms before the timer runs out.

Enemies

There are 15 enemy types across the five levels. Enemies patrol the scrapyard and can cost you a life on contact. You can defeat an enemy by jumping on it from above.

• Level 2: Lenny the Blue Screen of Death and Burn-In Monitor
• Level 3: Possessed Mouse, Murder Mouse, and Cursed Cursor
• Level 4: Tower Whipper, Commodore PET Chomper, and Model M Betrayer
• Level 5: Resisting Resistor, Cooling Fan, Dazed 8088, Clueless Capacitor, and Cache Counting Cash

Hazards & Platforming

• Watch your footing: falling off the level costs a life.
• Use moving platforms carefully. Some platforms travel horizontally, while others move vertically.
• Some platforms can tilt, shake, and fall after being activated.
• Moving platforms can push, trap, or crush LE Bot when he is caught between solid surfaces.
• Some scrapyard passages are too low to cross while standing, so you will need to crouch.

LE Bot's Abilities

• Run, jump, and crouch to navigate the scrapyard.
• Jump on enemies to defeat them and bounce away safely.
• Use crouching to pass through low-clearance areas.
• Activate a checkpoint by touching its terminal. If LE Bot loses a life afterward, he returns to the active checkpoint instead of the beginning of the level.

Power-Ups & Collectibles

• Floppy disks: Collect 25 floppy disks to earn an extra life. You can hold up to 10 lives.
• Overclock: Gives LE Bot 2× movement speed for 8 seconds. Use it to cover ground quickly or escape a dangerous situation.

Lives & Time Limit

• You begin the game with 3 lives.
• Each level has a 5-minute (300-second) time limit.
• Running out of time costs a life and triggers the scrapyard electromagnet sequence.
• Lose all your lives and it is Game Over.
• Resetting the game returns you to Level 1 and restores the starting three lives.
