How to Play

Objective:

The goal of the game is to reach the target score in as few moves as possible. Success requires a balance of knowledge, strategy, and luck.

Basic Gameplay:

At the start of each turn, five cards are dealt face-down from a standard deck of playing cards. The player selects one card to reveal. Revealing a card displays:

  • The card's point value
  • A quiz question
  • Five possible answers

The player must answer the question before proceeding.

Card Values:

Each card contributes points as follows:

  • Ace — 10 points
  • King — 8 points
  • Queen — 6 points
  • Jack — 4 points
  • 10 — 2 points
  • Number cards (2‐9) — 1 point
  • Joker — 0 base points (special rules apply)

Answering Questions:

  • If the player answers correctly, the card's point value is added to the score.
  • If the player answers incorrectly, the card's point value is deducted from the score.
  • One move is consumed regardless of the outcome.

Scores may become negative, and it is possible⁃through skill and luck⁃to recover and still win.

Turn Flow:

After a question is resolved (unless the game ends in a win or loss):

  1. The played card is returned to the deck.
  2. The deck is reshuffled.
  3. The player is prompted to draw five new cards.
  4. The next turn begins.

Because the deck is reshuffled each turn, the same card may appear multiple times during a game.

🃏 The Joker Card

When a Joker is revealed, the player must choose one of three actions,

  1. Pass
    • The Joker is discarded.
    • No moves are consumed.
    • No points are gained or lost.
    • The player immediately draws five new cards.
  2. Play the Joker
The Joker may be played on its own:
    • If the answer is correct:
      • No points are added.
      • Two moves are restored.
    • If the answer is incorrect:
      • No points are deducted.
      • Two moves are consumed.
  3. Synergize the Joker (Empower Synergy) The Joker's full potential can be unlocked by choosing Empower Synergy.
    • One additional card is drawn and placed alongside the Joker.
    • This sixth card:
      • Does not present a new question
      • Transfers its point value to the Joker
    • The Joker inherits this value for scoring purposes.
Resolution:
  • If the answer is correct:
    • The inherited point value is added to the score
    • Two moves are awarded
  • If the answer is incorrect:
    • The inherited point value is deducted from the score
    • Two moves are consumed

The supporting card is then discarded along with the Joker.

Winning and Scoring

The game ends when:

  • The player's score meets or exceeds the target score (win), or
  • The player runs out of moves (loss)
Final performance is evaluated by weighing:
  • The target score
  • The final number collected in the pot collected
  • The number of moves used

Higher goals demand tighter play, ensuring fairness across varying difficulty levels.
